How to connect new LED flashers? was created by gwolever
Hey guys.

I just bought a couple new LED flashers to replace my stock flashers as I am using LED front and rear blinkers. The flashers are 2 prong and indicate which prong is Load and which is Battery.

My problem is figuring out which wires from stock setup are which.

I'm not sure what kind of problems I might run into if I wire them backwards, but I'd like to avoid that anyway.

On one stock flasher, I had an orange wire to one prong and a red/green stripe wire to the other.

On the other stock flasher, I had 2 orange wires hooked up to the prongs.

I can't read wiring diagrams very well, so any help would be greatly appreciated if you guys have any ideas.

Thanks.

Do you have a test light? If you do take the test light and touch the inside of 1 of the terminals and see which has power with the key on. The other wire should have no power. You might have to turn your signal light on for it to have power going to it.

Best of luck B)

With regard to the flasher hookup, if you install them and they do not flash, just reverse the leads. The flashers will be fine. The installation instructions sent with the unit (in the email confirmation sent to you) should cover this. Sorry these directions might seem a bit crude, but due to the number of different motorcycle these units are compatible with, there is no way to cover every iteration. If fact, on my KZ650, the leads that go to one of my flashers are both orange w/green stripe! :woohoo:
