Question...1978 or 1980????

I think 1978, but do not know for sure. I also think only differance is speedo. Your help would be appreciated.

Interesting...the '78 had the regular 160 mph speedo while the '80 got the cruddy 85 mph version like the rest of the kaws that year....but not sure about the kmh ones....never though about that.

My Aussie delivered 80 Z1R MK11 has a 240 kmh...but the 78 has the exact same dash.

These below are not mine...but it gives you some idea. ;)

I thought maybe the red around the fuel and amp guage might date it. The vid does not show red around either of those bikes' guages.

Maybe added by PO in last 30 plus years?

My 78 KZ1000A doesn't have the trip knob on the face of the speedo but rather on the left side of the speedo case.
