81 kz1000

I found a kz 1000 the other day, that a guy let me have for cleaning out his old barn. The bike is fuel injected, engine turns freely. But the problem is ALL of the electrical wiring has been cut. I have the harnesses but everything looks as if it were cut at once. Which leads me to believe that the computer is probably fried. My question is, can I bypass the computer by installing a dyna ignition. If I do this, do i have to switch to carbs, or do they make an electronic ignition with a fuel management system. I am a complete novice and this is the first bike I have ever owned. I plan on taking my time getting it running and converting it to a bobber, so any advice will be appreciated.
