How is your main fuse? I have had my fuse holder lose it's grip on the fuse. power would come and go as contact was lost or made.

Also do a search here for electrical trouble shooting info that Mfolks posts. I have used it to correct some problems on my bikes.

Few weeks ago I lost power to everything on my KZ1000. I found that my harness connector were melted together under the tank, my main 30amp fuse was blown and the screw for the main power out of the battery was loose. Tightened the screw, still nothing, replaced the fuse - nothing. I didn't want to buy a harness because my bike is a KZ1000p that I didn't want to look like a police bike. So I cut out the entire wiring harness and began from scratch. Rewired the entire bike and it runs better than before, more power like maybe one of the wire from one of the coils wasn't flowing to the ignitor or something. Can't explain it, but it runs better. If you don't have to rewire for a reason like I had. I would recommend either getting a harness or someone who has any idea of what to look for to take a look. Best of luck.

Would assure integrity of the ground connection where the negative battery cable attaches to rear of the engine.

Might also be corrosion inside the Kill switch or inside the Ignition switch.

Would also check for corrosion of clips on wiring to/from the main fuse.

May find a wiring diagram, service manual, or other help at:
