Wiring a KZ1000P, need help.

I was riding my kz1000 last Tuesday and lost all juice to everything, except a few that were hardwired to the battery. Found the 30 amp fuse was blown, replaced it and still nothing.

Anyhow I would love to just wire exactly what I need for the ignition, starter, headlight, taillight, brake light and blinkers. My problem is the previous owner had wired around some of the original wiring harness instead of fixing the issue. So I have no idea what goes to where because they just used red, white or black.

If I knew what the connectors that plug into the box by the battery went too, it would make things alot easier. Like which one do I need to get the basic wiring I want to do done. Also I have had problems finding the starter relay, rectifier, breaker points then I think I could get the job done.

If anyone has any ideas or diagrams of where parts are located and diagram of where the colored connectors go to on the side of the battery box, I would greatly appreciate it.

I doubt the bike is running points, probably electronic. Trace the big hot wire from the battery to find your starter relay. The rectifier is integrated into the voltage regulator which is usually mounted to the underside of the battery box.


You will need the factory diagram so you can cipher wire colors and where they go
