Installing a Dyna S on my Kz1000 was created by Ogcoda
So I just got my Dyna S and have already removed my old points system off my bike. I started reading the instructions and found out that this might be a little harder then i had figured.... The instuctions are super confusing and I'm not very good with this kinda stuff in the first place. Anyone have some tips or tricks for getting this beast set up and timed right?

You should do a search as this has been covered before with good pics and detailed instructions. It would be quicker to do a search than it would be to retype it minus pics.

What part of the installation has you stumped? It is not super complicated but I agree that the instructions leave a lot to be desired

alright, so i followed the instructions and this is what my problem is now....

I have it hooked up just as it said to and I'm not getting the 12v light to turn on at all. So thinking i must have mested up somewhere i unhooked the red connector to try it again, and the light came on.... BUT it stays on no matter where the timing is. And if i plug it back in to where it was before(Yellow/Red Wire) It shuts the 12v light off. Any ideas guys?

Are you following this.... dyna-s-ds2-1-installation-by-omr

Wiring Diagram...

NOTE: For the DYNA IE to operate, the ENGINE must be grounded!
In reference to switched battery voltage (~ +12Vdc), the ignition plate is grounded through the engine mounting.

Download the Dyna S testing pdf file from Dyna's web site. it will explain how to check it as you are installing.
