charging system
08 May 2012 04:33
ok i was running down the road on my 1981 kz440 ltd A. when i was coming to a stop pulled the clutch in as the bike died. at first i was way mad wanting to trash the bike. i left it at work for an entire week. till i had time to look at it the batt was dead but it would jump start. put freshly charged battary in it ran great for about 20 miles lol. bought new rectifire. was not the problem as i pulled the sprocket cover off to get to the stater i found the the wires had gotten pinched between the clutch assembaly. lmfao

Repair the wires and hope nothing in the charging system got fried. You should have about 14.4 volts at the battery when revved to 3 to 4 thousand rpm. You will need a meter to test
