Front brake light

Front brake light

The brake light won't come on when I use front brake. Rear comes on fine ?

Check the connectors on the pressure switch to make sure they're tight. The switch on my KZ650 is down at the splitter at the bottom of the triple tree (see pic).

If the connections are good(check for corrosion, as it's usually non conductive), remove the electrical connections, and using a multimeter or a self powered test light, squeeze the brake lever(or if you're by yourself, put a ty wrap on the squeezed lever) checking for electrical continuity. If no continuity, the pressure switch may be bad & needs replacement.

Could also remove both wires from the pressure switch, and connect them directly to each other (by-passing the pressure switch), and see whether the brake light comes on.

Might need the ignition switch in ON position for the brake light to come on.

I took the wires of the front brake switch and made a jumper wire and hooked the two together. And BINGO the brake light came on. Tried it 5 times, each time it worked.
