Great, fantastic, I love it! I also picked up a chrome bucket from a kz250, it was $10, figured what the hell, if it doesn't fit I'll flog it and get another one. So it doesn't fit, and now I'm gonna flog it and get another one.

Anyone know offhand what models had a chrome bucket that fits a 7" headlight unit? Would one of these do the trick do ya think?

The one you linked seems like it should work. My 78 KZ1000 takes a 7" headlight.

Including information about bike year and model is helpful to viewers and usually elicits better responses.
It's easy to put the information in your signature where it shows in all posted messages, past and future.
And may be changed whenever and as often as desired.

Thanks Patton et al.

Martin, when you mentioned the mount hole location, did you mean the side mounts for the headlight ears? Because I was going to swap those out for a set of the $20 little chrome ones. Which reminds me, the stock ones look like they might serve some sort of brace function, is it safe for me to just remove them when I drop the forks?

So I got the new bucket and retaining rings. Other than being a bit of a jigsaw puzzle with the new headlamp they seem great.

I think I'm getting where Martin was going with the mounting hole thing, this bucket is pretty shallow, thinking I might need to figure out a fix for the connector from the wiring harness, and getting the rest of the wiring tucked away again on installation is going to take some Tetris skills.

I'm a little puzzle how I'm going to mount my Angel Eye ring though, I don't want to destroy the new headlamp trying to get the lens off to get the ring in there, and if I do get the lens off the idea of glueing the ring in place seems kinda hack.

Anybody got some bright ideas? Would pics help?
