So the fuel gauge on my '81 CSR 1000 went all crazy which leaves me with a problem. Finding an original replacement is proving to be difficult and very costly. There is a four pin connector from the wiring harness for it, guessing some of those are power wires for the original gauge. Since there are just two wires coming from the sending unit, would it be possible to replace it with a universal automotive 2 wire gauge since the sending unit is still good?
