I have put a xm in a car, the antena just needs to see the clear sky, so that is not a big deal, the xm works thru the radio and you have to set it on differant stations in order to get the clear signal as you are dirving from town to town if they have a radio station thet is close to the setting you are on you have to change both the xm and the radio to a clear setting . not sure if this helps or not
