I have a 1982 750ltd I-4 looking for a starter..
Are the starters of this era interchangeable? Ie- if I purchased a kz650 starter from 81-84, would it work in my bike?

Thanks for your help and knowledge in advance.

On the earlier years yes, most likely yes on the later years too. 650 and 750 share many common parts. Side note I was told that Honda 750 starters have more torque and will fit a 900/1000. Don't know about torque but I do run one. Only dif is that Honda starter has a stud instead of a cable coming out of it. I wouldn't be surprised if they fit a 750.

According to the Kaw web site the starters from the 82 H2 and 83 H3 kz650 are the same as the 82 750 H3 LTD. The starter from one of the earlier kz650s may work, but I can not tell you that they will.

Kinda hard to say without seeing how it will mount up and checking on the rotation. Supposedly the 4 brush Kawasaki starters produce more starting torque than the 2 brush ones do.
