Any Info on these coils? was created by Heyhoss
Found these coils in a basket case I bought. They stamped andrews chicago and dated 12-78. I am yet to test or tinker with them. Anyone have and inklings of what they are or if they are any good for an 80 KZ1000?

Presupposing that the coils are serviceable, would measure resistance of primary winding (ohms) to determine whether suitable to a particular ignition system such as oem Kaw igniter style or Dyna-S or some other ignition.Heyhoss wrote: Found these coils in a basket case I bought. I have seen others use the Andrews coils before. Interesting mounting.
I'm not positive what color those are, the new ones that come in red are 2.8ohm coils which would be approximately equivalent to the Dyna 3 ohm coils (green).
