Can anyone tell me what some of these wire are for and where they go. This bike is an 1980 KZ1000 but it has a J motor so I'm sure some of the wiring had to be rigged to work.
I have attached 3 pictures and one has marks and numbers of wires I'm having problems with.

They are coming from the coil area and it looks like the ones connected are (pos) and the others (1 & 2) look to be ground wires. I have no clue what (3) would be.

Any help is greatly appreciated. :woohoo:

I have no clue what purpose the big cluster (picture 2)of wires is for as most aren't connected.

Pretty sure those are the wires to the ignition. There should be black, green and pink if my clymer is right.

The green and black should be the trigger wires from the ignition and I think the pinks go to the start/stop switch. The wad of shit on the backbone looks like somebody tried to fix a faulty ground or something.

With key on I got voltage out of #1 & #2 wires. Is this normal? They are coming from the coils. The center wire #3 has no voltage.
