wiring simple starter/ign switch

can i use a on/off toggle switch and a starter button?and if so, how would i go about wiring it up? and where on the engine do you mount the neg cable coming off the battery?thanks guys....or where can i get a ignition/starter/kill switch? if i want to go that route....

The Negative(-) battery cable usually goes to an engine mounting bolt. As to wiring in a toggle switch and push button start switch, get some that are rated for marine use(boating) as they must meet standards listed by the Coast Guard.
