Replacement Coil

ok me again now i have a question about coils . i need a replacment coil for my 82 kz440 and i was just wondering is there a after market coil ,or should i look for a used stock coil.My old coil works sometimes but more often then not its only on one cylinder. any help is appreciated

How's the compression? checked the valve clearances? The sparkplug cap contains a resistor that can fail. The cap unscrews from the sparkplug wire and it can be checked with a multimeter. It should have at least 5000 ohms resistamce.

www.z1enterprises.com sell a good replacement coil.

Get the EMGO four Ohm OEM coil from Z1 Enterprises for $36. I'm running it on my 750 twin. Works better than original.

oops.... probably not the coil. A twin can't fire on only one side because the spark plugs are wired in series on the coil output. If either side has an open, it kills spark for both.
