Kz750 ltd h2 wiring problem help please! was created by steelhorseangel
Hi kzr's
My dad and I've have totally restored from the dinosaurs bare bones a kz750 ltd h2 1981.
We live in the uk and the bike is nearing completion.
The bike is US spec and the turn signals double as daytime running lights.
These are illegal over in the uk.
There are no bike workshops here. I live on the west coast of the uk, what no bike shops?
Q) does anyone know how to retain the function of the oem turn signals and disconnect the daytime running lights.
Q2) what does a kz750 4 ride like? They're rare over here!
Many thanks
Angel in the UK
Many thanks for any advice, wiring diagram?

Hi Angel,
If you go to this site's filebase, look in the 1981 folder. There are two files with the color wire diagram. There should be three wires off your signal. Black (ground), Slate (turn signal), and blue (running light). If you take off the headlight, you should be able to unhook the blue wires and just run the lights as turn signals. Be sure to tape up the male connector so you don't short anything.
I think this will work, because I pulled some 2-wire front turn signals off of an 82 750 Ltd and put them on a '76 KZ900 Ltd that originally had a 1-wire turn signal. Just taping off the blue and plugging in the slate worked fine for that situation. Hopefully it will with yours.
I loved my kz750, but it's hard to discribe how they run. Much more low end torque than my kz400. Didn't have to downshift near as much. Lighter and a little faster in the twisties than my 900...but that may be because I need more practice on the 900. All in all, you have a great bike!
