hazard lights on my 1000?

i took my tank off and carbs off, cleaned them both. put it all back together with a new set of bars and throttle. well i turned on my right turn signal and both blinkers came on at the same time, turned on the left one with the same result. i didnt mess with the electronics and before i parked it it wasnt doing the nonsense. i neeeds help.

Always start with what you did last I would say pull your left switch assy back off and inspect see if it still does it off the bike. if not make sure nothing isg rounding against the new bars.

Other switch assembly was off the bars when it happened. Could that have affected it?

could be a flasher? maybe? i think like 3 or 4 dollars at napa

That symptom can happen if the hazard switch is pressed in, but the hazards are not working. Then when you use the turn signals, both sides will blink.

It can also happen if the wires inside the hazard switch are touching each other. Maybe some wires got shorted when you put on the new bars.

Sometimes a wire can get pinched when the tank is put on, or pulled off, so you may want to inspect under there too, if you can't find anything else.

uhhhh i didnt know there were actual hazards on this bike. i was just being a smartass because i seriously didnt think they came with hazards i just figured it was a short in the control that happens occasionally.

I had to figure out what KZ1000 is a CSR. It's an M1. It shows it has a hazard circuit and a turn signal circuit.

yeah as soon as you said that there's a hazard switch i went out to the bike flipped some switches and voila!!!i figured out how to use my hazards.
