Converting gauges from mechanical to electrical was created by andler2008
i did a search and turned up nothing. so has anyone actually ever done this? i'd jsut like to get as much info from you all as i possibly can to see if this is within my budget.

I've never seen anyone do it with stock gauges personally.
Most of those who I have seen do it buy an aftermarket gauge cluster.

I'm using stock ZX9 (98-99) electronic gauges on a formerly mechanical bike.
Gauges are fairly cheap, as are the speedo sensor and wiring harness, and it just takes some time to compare the wiring schematics and wire them up.
