Third Key position

My key switch has three positions 1 Off 2 Ignition/run and 3 all the way to the right.

Does position 3 have any purpose? Best I can tell it is not labeled.

3rd position is for park which leaves the parking lights on

You probably can remove the key in the third position, leaving the tail light and maybe the front running lights on.
