KZ650 - new coils and blown fuse was created by TheHolk
Hi,

Just installed new coils on my kz650 - I ordered the coils from z1enterprise (these guys are FAST btw). Thought the wiring is a no brainer as they come with male/female connectors - however when I switched on the ignition I blew the main fuse (actually twice just to be sure that I really screwed up). Sounds familiar? - any ideas what it could be?

Thanks!
Holk

Check the mounting hardware for the coils, as some will contact the spacers close enough to ground the primary connections.

You don't say which coils you bought, but look close at the primary connections to see if they are close to the frame. Some have ad sorts to ground there. The posts on some coils end up being very close to the frame. Causing a short circuit, blowing fuses.

Oh I see Mfolks beat me to it.
