Speedometer cable?

Man this bike just keeps turning out to be a money pit. :( Now I found out my speedo cable/speed sensor is bad.

Where is the best place to find one?

1980 KZ1000 LTD is the bike.

yeah i just noticed it's not my cable it is the little piece that the cable slips onto that is busted off from the sensor. NICE! It is still inside the cable connection piece. wtf?

You need to disassemble the front speedo drive hub, or at least pull out the Pinion gear. Looks like this: #5

The pinion gear fits a bunch of models, see if this link works for it: www.kawasakiepc.com/SResultPartIndex.cfm...D=0&PartInfoWindow=1
But a good used assy might be you best choice.
Here is what it fits, again very popular: www.kawasakiepc.com/SResultPartIndex.cfm...D=0&PartInfoWindow=1

Something had to seize up in order to break that, definitely check the cable, and speedo head. You can use a drill, chuck the cable end up in a drill and spin the cable and head. Look at the needle, it should have a smooth reading and be quiet.
