coil and plug problem

I have a 79 KZ 650. I replaced the original coils with the Green ones last year. My problem is that I'm not getting a spark out to the plug. So it may be the wires, it may be the coil. How to I check the coil to be sure it is ok? I have an ohm-meter, and I know there is a way to figure by testing the resistance. Additionaly, if the coil tests out to be ok, is that for sure a wire problem or could there be a problem with the coil outpur so to speak?

THanks

First....get yerself a manual. A Kawasaki Service manual would be ideal, but a clymer will help you out as well.
I know in the Clymer their are troubleshooting procedures for primary and secondary ign circuits.....how much VDC and impedence between such-and-such contacts and stuff like that there. (Dont have my book in front of me, so cant give you any examples....sorry).
Somebody will chime in with a procedure I'm sure, so in the meantime...find a source for a manual. Well worth whatever $$ you spend on it!
Kawasaki Motorcycles...because cars lean th wrong way!

If only 1-4 or 2-3 check the points and condensors. If they look/check ok, then check the coils by primary and then secondary OHMS. Primary is checked at the power leads - should be around 16 - 20 KOHMS. The secondary is at the plug wires - should be whatever is marked on the coil - 4 - 6 OHMS.

Good luck

Actually you have those numbers backwards, 2-4 ohms on the primary side (where the points connect) and 16k-20k ohms on the secondary side (spark plug wires), and check the secondary side without the plug caps on them, then check the plug caps.
