Replacement ignition switch for 1983 GPZ 550

I'm trying to find a suitable replacement for the ignition switch on my '83 GPZ 550.

After hunting on eBay for many a month with no luck, I'm just going to get an aftermarket one.

The photo looks VERY different from my actual switch (wrong dimensions, wrong wiring), but the guys at motorcycle-superstore say that Emgo assures them it is the correct part and that that is a stock photo. No luck contacting Emgo directly.

Has anyone had any experience with Emgo ignition switches? How are they in terms of matching the stock part, quality, etc.?

Checked with www.z1enterprises.com ? They of almost anybody, can tell you if the Emgo switch will work.

Shot Z1 an email now. They don't have the switch in their KZ550-H2 electrical section, so checking if they may be able to special order it or at least know if it's the right one.

How reliable are Emgo parts? I've seen them offer pretty much everything. Are they good quality?

A lot of riders are using the Emgo ignition coils and other electrical parts, so I suppose they are reliable...

just wondering if the switch fit correctly. I'm looking at a 83 gpz 550 for sale without a key. can't start it or check the tank. It better go cheap!

Fits and works perfectly, right down to the steering lock.

It does not come with mounting bolts though ... I used the ones which I had from removing the broken switch.
