turn signals gone bad. was created by bbirch
I need some help here, i recently painted my kz1000 cop bike and tryed to add led turn signals.
I removed the old light when I painted the bike and added the led strips later. When I used the new turn signals they worked fine but then I turned on the hazard lights and nothing. then turned on turn signals and discovered i lost those somoe how any ideas as to what went wrong?

Did you replace the silver can turn signal flasher/relay? A new electronic one from the auto parts store should have your turn signals working again. Make sure you get the same number of contacts on the new flasher as the old one as they come in two(2)and three(3)pin contacts.
The original bulbs had resistance, causing the silver can relay to open and close internal electrical contacts, but the LED's do not have this current draw.

The hazard and turn signal circuits have two seperate flasher cans, you'll need to replace both if you want the system to still work.

There should be two(2) of the cans, one for the turn signals, and the other for the hazard lights. On some bikes they may be close to the battery, usually in a rubber mount for vibration reduction.
Do you have a wiring diagram? it will tell you what color of wires to look for:
