What's This???

I've just founs out my 77 bike is running the newer combo reg/rectifier so there has been some DIY going on with the harness, i can't identify this item though! 1 wire is an earth & the other 2 go into the main harness under the tank. It looks like an original item too. Can anyone identify it?

It might be part of the brake light sensor, some Kawsaki's had this to warn of the brake light bulb being inop.
