yep got a test light. ill just have to test every connection. if im not getting fire to my points then its gotta be electrical.

Getting voltage to the coil is a critical factor.
Usually via a red wire or a red/yellow wire.

The wires attached to the other coil primary terminals -- perhaps a black wire and a green wire -- route through closed points to ground.
While so grounded, the coil charges.

When the points open, the coil primary becomes ungrounded, which causes the coil to fire through the spark plug wires.
