Hot ground wires then a blown fuse
08 Aug 2011 10:40
Hi Guys.
My 83 KZ750L is blowing fuses alot.
I plug in the new main 20A fuse and then some of the blk /yellow ground wires get hot, then "pop"
the fuse is blown.

Check your Negative(-)battery cable from the battery terminal to the engine mounting bolt. It could be loose or has failed internally due to corrosion. If the cable feels "Crunchy" when flexed, it's bad/going bad.
If the cable has failed, the other gound wires(the Black with Yellow stripe ones)will try to carry the load & overheat.
