Voltage drop ignition switch was created by calvin17d
Low voltage at the coils. Performed the drop test thanks to some guidance in other threads. Worked my way up the circuit testing all connections. Lost almost a 1.5 volts coming out of the back of the ignition switch.

Is this serviceable, or should I just buy a new one now?

Go to www.z1enterprises.com and see if they carry a replacement switch. Is the switch sealed? Can you get into it? Be careful, as springs & ball bearings can fly out!

If not already done, could try dousing the switch internals through the key hole with electronic spray cleaner such as Deoxit from Radio Shack, then using the key to manipulate the switch positions, and repeat douse/manipulation several times.

Might eliminate some internal corrosion inside the switch that could be causing the voltage drop.

Good Fortune! :)
