ignition switch was created by kfs
I have a 1981KZ1000 K1 LTD the ignition switch quit. The exact replacement has been discontinued. I'm thinking I can unplug the original and leave it in place to save the steering lock; then install another switch elsewhere for the electrics. Anyone have any suggestions on location for new switch; or done smething similar. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Tried
www.z1enterprises.com
? They seem to be able to locate most older bike's parts.
I've seen ignition switches at www.denniskirk.com and www.jpcycles but not sure they'd fit.

thanks for your reply, yes i have as well as bike bandit, kawasaki etc. looks like i cant keep it original. I was just curious if anyone else had relocated the ignition switch; and any problems they ran into. I want to keep the steering lock. By the way M Folks your advise on pulsing coil in kawasaki motorcycle forum was spot on,it solved my dropping cylinders problem. thank-you very much.
