IC igniters and such HELP was created by trapperworm
Hey all,
So here I am again, with more spark issues... Got the bitch running and now it's not again.... Gotta love an old beat up POS.
Anyway, I found an igniter for it on ebay but it's for a 83 KZ750 N (mine is an 81 KZ750E).
Looking at the pic it looks dead on the same but one of the "type" numbers is different.
Thoughts?
Would it still work? Could the number change be simply because of the year difference or would/could there be a drastic difference between the two years?
Help an electrically illiterate idiot out please.

Here are the Kawasaki igniter part numbers that will work on you '81 KZ750-E2.
21119-1017,1020,1040,1429
The part number for the '83 KZ750-N2 is 21119-1055, which of course is different. I would be hesitant to use that one, especially since the other numbers are somewhat common used parts. I see the 1020 and 1040 igniters on Ebay occasionally.

Our resident electrical guru loudhvx has designed a cheap and reliable build it yourself ignitor which should work.
copy and paste the following into your browser

and click on his "compatability" link
This is the way I would go if mine died
