Hello. im new to this forum and i recently bought a 1976 kz900. my problem is that my speedo and tach do not light up and i was wondering if theres a bulb in there that needs to be changed or a bad fuse but i dont know where to look first.

There are bulbs in the back of the gauges. take the tiny little phillips off the back of the gauge and pull the flat rubber deals out and there the bulb is. Since they are all out it might be a wiring problem but check the easy stuff first.

Check out this thread: kzrider.com/forum/4-electrical/457365-ch...-speedometerkz900-76

I posted a brief description of the disassembly of an instrument panel there as well as where to find replacement LED's instead of the the stock incandescent bulbs.
