Electric start works but not when on "run"

I can use my electric start but the switch has to be set to "off". While it is turning over, I then switch it to "run" and it starts right up. It feels like the start button won't even go in when the switch is set tho run. Anyone else have the same problem? It's not critical, but it sure is annoying.

With the ignition key off, open up the right handlebar switch pod. Check the electrical contacts and wiring for signs of corrosion or broken wires. If you have a camera, take pictures of how things are put together if you need to re solder any wires.
