Hi. 77 kz1000-A. Just replaced handle bar control pods (with after market pods), fuse box assembly, ignition switch, added front and rear blinkers, replaced reg and rect with a combo unit, fixed a bunch of bad connections, double and triple checked all connections and grounds. Whew! All components work!!

I now have no spark. I checked by laying it on the block and cranking it.

Re-checked all connections and grounds. Manual (Haynes) said I have a bad ignition switch, but its new. I feel like I am missing something very obvious and easy. Where do I start?!?

Well, I'll give it a stab, though I'm no expert.

To have spark, all you need it constant/stable power to the coil, a working coil/wire/plug, proper connection from the points/ignition to cause the coil to fire, and proper grounding of components.

Check those things. One or more of them is at fault. Unless I missed something....

Have power at the coil, good ohms across coil and plug wires. How do I check for connection from ignition (Dyna III) other than checking connectors? How do I check for good ground other than connections?

It is a beautiful day here and I'd love to ride. Somebody please help. :(

All my grounds and ground connections look great. I have power to coils, I have proper resistence through windings (could't get constant reading through secondary but it wanted to read around 20 ohms).

What else can I do?! Could my dyna be bad. The manual says I have a bad ignition switch in this situation, is that possible?
