No lights on Guages?

so i just noticed that my old kz650 guage light do not work, my neutral light, and guage lights wont work? checked wiring and everything is good? Where can I find replacement bulbs for these guages? or any other ideas to check?

I picked some bulbs at NAPA. I also found them at Z1.

I'd check the fuses first, if nothing is coming on, then the bulbs. To access some of the instrument bulbs on these older bikes, the headlight needs to be lowered(loosen the pivot bolts)and then remove the screws holding the plastic cover(s) on the back side of the instruments.

Some bikes use the older push and turn style bulbs, others a basesless bulb that pushes into a special socket. Either one of these should have voltage in the bulb sockets when the headlight is on.

Possibly corrosion or a broken wire has caused loss of instrument lighting....

Have no clue about the 650, but my 1000J has a 9 pin connector up under the tank and a problem there can result in all sorts of instrument problems. That I (unfortunately) know about!

thanks guys when I work on the bike tonight, I will look for those things? I am trying to avoid buying a new speedo right away.

Check here, superlumination.com/74.htm , go right down to the last set of bulbs. I think at worst you may have to change the sockets, but these guys seem to offer nearly every instrument light in LED.
