my bike takes a sealed beam 2d1 bulb and i wanna switch it to a modern light bulb that i can change. anyone know what will work

Try here, they might have a conversion headlight so you could use the H4 bulbs:

Otto may chime in a little later, but he makes complete HID kits for our bikes. It is plug-and-play and the quality of the kit is great!

about headlights, the other night while riding home, the light went out, should I get one from the parts store, or somewhere else,I got about 50 bucks for this, and i need to get back on the road. thanks gentlemen.

If your takes a 7" sealed beam you can pick up a halogen bulb at an auto parts store. I use a Wagner. Ed
