Where can I find a wiring diagram? This bike (1980 KZ1000 LTD but with J model motor) looks like it has been rigged all over so kinda need to know what goes where, maybe I can figure it out by reverse engineering.

In the upper right corner there is a link called "filebase". Click on that and look for the year then model. There may be a diagram already posted there.
1981 KZ550 D1 gpz.

Here's the newer engine and bike wiring diagram, it covers 1981-1982 Kz1000/Kz1100's:

It's a shop manual, so just about everything is listed for the "J" engine.
