Smart a$$! Wireman, you into your parents liquor cabinet again? (j/k :woohoo: )
Here are a couple of choices:
Thanks
Those are both about the same except for the "advance" knob. That let's you measure the amount of advance. The readings will be off because the light will assume the engine has a distributor. But you don't really need the advance knob for KZ's anyway since the advance marks are on the advancer itself.

...if it was my post, here's an explanation...I am thinking about picking up a timing light, and found a reference in the archives to make sure it is the "inductive pickup" type. Could someone elaborate? Thanks.
I'm certain that nobody believes me to this day, but I somehow managed to buy a non-inductive timing light at AutoZone. Instead of the normal inductive clamp (that clamps on the spark plug wire), it had a good ol' alligator clip with green rubber on it (of course, it also had the +/- connectors for the battery).
Anyway, I tried it, it didn't work (obviously), and I returned it and got an explanation from the counter-guy that the one I had was for old cars. What do I know, I'm no mechanic...
Once I got the correct one, I posted my experience (now in the archive), and probably just caused a bunch of unecessary confusion.... But I can't go back and change it now in the archive...

Get the inductive type. Make SURE it has a BRIGHT XENON? light. FWIW, I got a slick looking Equus light, $39 from Autozone.
