1978 KZ650 Chopper Wiring? was created by FrankySwarm
Does anyone have a simple wiring diagram for a 1978 KZ650 (just the minimum, such as taillight and headlight, etc.) I figured since i fired all my other wiring I might as well just do em over bare bones ! Thanks in advance.

I believe that is for a 77 KZ650. The 78 uses a single-phase permanent magnet alternator. If his is a very late 77 sold in 78, that diagram might work.
Also, check out the starter button/relay wiring. You deleted the black wire from button to relay such that it looks like you are running the black wire to the white hot wire (thus bypassing the ignition switch completely), and at the relay it looks like the start wire is connected to the ground of the battery.
I think you just need to re-draw that black wire, and draw the battery ground from battery to rectifier.

Now this drawing doesn't include lighting/break lights etc... Tap off the ignition switch brown conductor through a toggle switch and tie in your lighting system... Can't get any simpler then that.

Good point Loud... Wasn't meaning exact model number but more on how to simplify his wiring.

I didn't realize you were still online. I edited the post because you may want to make a couple fixes on that diagram.
