I had a set of those too, and they didn't work either. I made sure my ground from the battery was good, and made sure the signal stem was well seated to the frame, no dice. I jsut got another set...you could always just throw a ground lead on there too.

You didn't say what signals you have, please state the type of bulb in the signals. LED will require a different flasher, and resistors to load the circuit. There are threads on LED signals.

turns out these suckers are such small bulbs i thought there wasn't enough resistance as with led types so i added another signal next to each one . still no blink blink . gonna try an inline resitor next . if it works i will post pictures . these are really accent running lights , but i figured when these burn out i will put led inside housings .

I have a 78 kz400 b1 and i bought some LED turn signals that have two wires for each...black and read. Im guessing positive and negative....now when i took my stock turn signals off they worked...i put the leds on...nothing, then i plugged the stocks up and now....nothing......what do i need to get these leds working on my bike...if i plug the negative into the ground wires instead of the wires the normal signals use to complete the circuit, then they just all come on either way i turn the signals on. PLEASE HELP! thanks!!

a single wire signal requires a grounding loop. I believe that most signal stems are rubber mounted. Notice the grommets in the top right.

otakar , turns out you are right . i tried every thing . then i got to looking at the old stems and thought the rubber was for vibration , but then i realised it also isolated the ground from the frame . the signals ground wire was also black with yellow stripe , different than others , plus it didn't just go to frame ,it ran into the harness . so i came to share my findings and you allready gave me the answer . thanks for the affirmation though.

Glad to be of help. Most of these bikes had grommet inserts to ground the signal stem. If you take a look at the picture in the Z1E link you will see those in the two grommets in the top right. They have the grounding wire attached to them.
