Help me id this electrical part?

It's in the battery compartment. The wire on the right is disconnected, and there's a disconnected frame ground nearby, but the connectors do not connect as is. The connectors on both the frame ground and the mystery component are female - they're both double connectors, post connector is the correct term, I think.

Also, should disconnecting my taillight and rear signals affect the operation of my front signals?

And lastly, where's a convenient place to tap into switched 12 volt for my dyna pickup? And what does the term "switched" refer to?

Thanks in advance,

Some of the bigger kawasaki's have/had provisions for aux electrical power for gloves and vests. They had their own fused power taps.

Assuming this is actually a power tap, and I can get my tester to light, couldn't this be a good choice for my coil voltage tap?

EDIT: mystery part is an accessory fuser. Thanks mfolks.
