There's a little electrical relay or switch under my tank on the left side of the frame under the harness.
What is it and if it's bad or if it's wired wrong would it keep my starter button from working?
Starter button and on/off switch continuity works properly, i have a new solenoid, and have a good battery but my starter button doesn't work. (if I touch the two solenoid posts the engine does turn over).
I'm pretty sure it's all wired up right but this little relay thing almost fell apart when I too it off.

Thanks, yes, I found that already and just bypassed the clutch lever switch.
I'll trace more wires this weekend. Just thought maybe this relay or whatever it is might be preventing something.

You may need to pop the starter switch in pieces and clean the contacts as well. It's not fun but can be done.
May be a good idea to do even if you don't find the open or resistance in the circuit somewhere.

Probably not too far from the truth.Motor Head wrote: Looks from the rusty terminals that is disconnected along time ago. I only see marks on the two "Latch/ control" side and no marks on the two "contact point/ load" side of the relay.

I think this is right. The horn is very loud and this little relay (I'm assuming) made a clicking noise when I press the horn button if I listened very carefully. The horn wire is not connected and this is pretty much falling apart so I guess I'll have to find a replacement.
Thanks everyone!
