Charging system on my '82 KZ1100 A2

Ok, here's the verdict. Found a wire(r/w) that was disconnected and taped off. Checked voltage w/ bike off...nothing, checked w/ key on and not running...nothing, checked with bike started and voila there's my charging voltage. Now I have to get on the phone and see if I can get a return authorization from Rick's for my R/R that just showed up. Thanks everyone for your input!!
