Broken needle was created by tubesteak
i can honestly say that ive never seen this happen before.
it just broke while riding today. nothing special, just looked down it was fine, looked up, looked down again and this is what i see:

They get brittle over the years, and with enough vibration - snap! :angry:

Not too hard to fix though... lots of info around here and at Z Resto

Some years back, a little spider got inside my speedo and spun a web that grabbed the needle and held it at about 60 mph. It didn't move for MONTHS..... that stuff sure is tough.:laugh:

The cross hairs of my old David White builders level was made from the web of a black widow spider. The toughest web there is.
