Dyna/coil mod question (another one) was created by dkmk
Waiting on chassis parts, so I have assembled all the parts to install a Dyna-S and the relay mod. Just want to verify where I am tapping in for the power for both the relay, and for the Dyna-S. Handlebar housing has both a brown wire, and a yellow/red striped wire. All the other hook-ups for the relay are straight-forward. I just want to get it right the first time. Thanks, here are a couple of pics:
Thanks in advance.

It's the red/yellow wire you want. In your last pic, you have the red/yellow wire with the dual female plug. Unplug the coils, run a single wire from the dual female plug to lug 86. Then from lug 87, run a wire to your coils. I cut a dual female plug off another scrap harness and attached it to this wire from the 87 lug, and plugged in the 2 coils. Here's a diagram:

I guees you're following the old version of the "coil mod" doc, the one that says to tap into the handlebar control wire.
I just ran a wire from the starter solenoid for the POWER power to the relay. I used the old coil power wire as the trigger for the relay. Then I used 87 and 87a from the relay to power the coil and the ignition.

Here's a diagram of how I set up mine with a 5 lug relay that had two #87 lugs. I used one 87 lug to power my IC Igniter, but it can be used to power the Dyna in your case.

Yes, that is the one. I think I am getting hung up on wire colours, as the brown wire from handlebar is connected with a 2 -> 1 connector, but you will notice there is only a single wire.
I too have the double #87 lugs on the relay, so I can use one for the Dyna power, correct? Why does the diagram show #87 -> Igniter -> ground? Never looked to close at the Dyna yet, and briefly skimmed the instructions. Will check later.
Thanks for the help, will be back if required

The diagram with the Igniter I drew up for my Electronic Ignition Conversion. The Dyna will connect just like the Igniter, although I'm not sure if the Dyna has a ground.
