compatibility question 1980 & a1979 kz 650

i have a 1980 kz 650 what parts would be interchangeable from a 1979 kz650.ie motor frame components and cosmetics and wiring harness and regulator and other electrical components please explain to me if there is much difference or do i have to stay with the 1980 kz

Welcome. Most Engine parts will interchange, although the engine did switch cam chains around that time. Frame and other parts are the same as well, depending on what style you have, LTD + CSR, or F + B,C or D.
