Timing advance springs,,,

Evening, i was looking at the advance springs on my 80 KZ1000 LTD and one looks a little stretched out, I would like to replace them does anyone know where i could get a set? I would prefer new if such a thing is possible. Thanks,, JT

One of the two forum members either "Loudhvx" or "Otakar" touched on this some time ago. I'd write them and ask if they found a source.

I think one of them found a custom spring maker, but I'm not sure.

you likely will have to get entire advance unit, probably easier IMO

Get a kit for a small block chevy. HEI dist I think, very common and cheap. They come with several tension springs for "recurving" your advance curve

I found some springs at Orchard Supply that were close to mine and I was able to make some. They are very thick wire and not easy to bend.

Yes, Kawi never sold the springs alone. I believe the advancers are "calibrated" for advance by bending the spring coils apart. Mine was.
