Anyone got one of these laying around???

Need a new advance unit, mines all buggered up, springs are terrible and it had small "acciDENT" :laugh:
The origional match would be an 81 1000 CSR, but any model KZ1000 from 80 - 84 with electronic ignition is fine.

Some pics for identification - freshly stolen from another excellent post. :laugh:

Note - the electronic ignition advancer has no markings other than "T" on the 2-3 side.

I bought one as a spair and paid $65 for it.

kawasaki.com shows advancer 21148-1020 as still active and used on 40 models, being last used on 2005 KZ1000-P24 (Police 1000).

Am thinking the advancer doesn't care whether the ignition is Dyna-S or Kaw igniter, and should function with either of the respective rotors used with those ignitions.

If not already done, would search the part number on ebay and on google, at least before succumbing to dealer-rape. :pinch:

I'm in the process of splitting the cases on the 1000, advancer springs are rusted so I'll be in the same situation.

I have been on KLR forums lately and realized that most KLR riders are losers. That is why I am back. The unit I am refering to has no springs, it is electronic advance, so you would need a computer. It is from a DFI bike...
