Just type "finch box in your search bar and you will find several sites that deal with a basic wiring diaghram. Roy

I found this one on page two of a Google search for "Finch Box" (after a whole bunch of birdhouse links) :)

What the heck is a finch box, who invented it, why, what do finches have to do with it, and why do I need one?

I saw Steell's link, but don't get it.

Don't feel like searching through bird house websites.;)

Thanks, but I saw the page, I just don't get why it's called a finch box etc.

This question has been beat to death MANY MANY times and folks have posted wiring diagrams here. MOST folks who ask for a basic wiring harness DO NOT connect up lights, horns and blinkers nor an ignition or kill switch. Once any of that stuff is added, it becomes pretty much a stock wiring harness. A bike doesn't have tons of "extra" wiring. Also, when you go with any "bare bones" harness, you must also consider using different color wires to keep track of where things go in the event some repair must be made. I personally think this "bare bones" wiring is not a great idea for that reason and would prefer to buy a decent used harness and junction box & fuse box and modify from there but that is just me. Having the OEM wiring colors and a wiring diagram makes a lot of sense as well.

I have yet to see a "decent" used harness in person. I can always find broken conductors inside the insulation. Often a used harness will have the same broken wires that your harness did. They all get flexed at the same place and so break at the same place.

Also, and here's the main problem, the wires in the used harness are going to be oxidized which makes any soldering rather difficult.

Any good mechanic can figure out the bare-bones wiring without a diagram or color codes, as long as it is done neatly and the wires are accessible, I.E. not covered 100% with electrical tape.

Use the original colors if possible, though.
