Stator question
07 Jan 2011 08:12
I am looking at buying a stator off of ebay for my 1979 kz1000st. It is like finding hens teeth!! There is one from a 1980 z1r that looks the same from what I can see. Does anyone know if they would be the same?

The 1000 st doesn't have any interchangeable parts with other models - so far as I know....
They were never made before, and none after either.
Someone might have another opinion, but I think this would be your best bet: Call Jeff @ Z1 Enterprises

A cross-reference is available in the Kaw diagrams.
Sometimes the diagram reference numbers are clickable, which speeds up finding the full part number below.
Click the part number - a new window opens.
Parts listed as Active might still be available at the dealer.
Click the yellow/black ? in that window - another new window opens showing what models use that part.
Click the red/white S for part number supersession.

Hi,
I had the stator rebuild by my local electric motor rewinder. Still going strong 25,000 miles later.

Hi!
Was this indeed the mk2 rotor which fitted in this? I'm having a hard time finding rotor for my 1979/80 mk2
The help link to kawasaki site doesn't help, do they still provide info? I was trying their main page but didn't find any info on older models.

That link was over 5 years old. Kawasaki.com dropped the parts list a little while ago. You can still research part number on several Kawasaki OEM parts sites. I use Partzilla.com. The models sharing this same stator originally posted by Patton is still good.
